WoW Forever Camping Planner
Build a camp for your party: pick a campfire, add up to five players and their professions, and see what each can place, the buffs at your level and when it all runs out. Every object and number is read from the beta client.
Camp objects, skills, reagents, buff values and timers come from the beta client’s tables (build 1.60.1.70009); the camping quest, the sleeping bag questline and Blizzard’s own estimates come from Wowhead’s and Icy Veins’ beta guides and a developer interview, named where they are used. Beta data can still change. Last reviewed: .
How camping works in WoW Forever
- Cooking 1Light a campfireCooking makes the Basic Campfire from the start. It is the camp: every other object has to stand near one.
- 60 secSit by the fireSit or craft nearby for a minute and you get the effect of every object at the camp for 1 hour.
- 3 · 5 · 10One object per playerEach player adds one object of their own profession. The campfire decides how many fit.
- 15 minA camp doesn’t lastThe client keeps a camp up for 15 minutes; Blizzard estimated about 10. Your next object waits 60 minutes, your next campfire 5.
Where you can put a camp
- Almost anywhere in the open world: Icy Veins’ guide gives beaches and riverbanks as examples.
- Not in cities, and not too close to another camp. A buff tells you when one is already nearby; Blizzard hasn’t said how far apart they must be.
- A camp is no safe spot. In MMORPG.com’s interview, Josh Greenfield told of a tester who left her camp on a Duskwood road and came back to find Stitches had killed her.
Every WoW Forever camp object
Every profession has 3 camp objects, at skill 20, 140 and 300, and Cooking also makes the campfires. A tier 2 or 3 object can be placed over the tier 1 object of its profession and keeps its buff, adding a workspace or service. You can trade the objects, but placing one takes the profession; anyone resting at the camp gets the effect (Wowhead’s beta guide).

Blizzard’s Deep Dive recap and Icy Veins said the Sharpening Wheel gives Attack Power. The beta client (build 1.60.1.70009) gives it Strength instead, exclusive with Strength of Earth Totem, and puts melee Attack Power on the Mining Lodestone. The table follows the client.
Camp buffs don’t stack with class buffs
Blizzard says camp buffs are variants of class buffs and don’t stack with them. The client names the class buff for each, so a camp fills in for a class your group doesn’t have rather than adding to one it does.

Camp Blueprints
The client has a Blueprint for every tier 2 and 3 object and for the two bigger campfires, 26 in all. Blizzard said they drop from specific dungeon bosses. Drops are decided by the server and aren’t in the client files, so no boss is named here until one is announced; the new instances are on our WoW Forever dungeons page.

Not a camp object, but the other way to rest on the road. Wowhead’s beta guide describes a hidden questline you can start at level 14 — near Alexston Farmstead in Westfall for the Alliance, south of Camp Taurajo in the Barrens for the Horde — that ends with this bag. The tooltip above is the beta client’s.
WoW Forever camping FAQ
What is camping in WoW Forever?
A new open-world system built on Cooking’s campfire. A campfire makes a campsite, each player nearby can add one object from their profession, and anyone who sits there for a minute gets the effect of every object at it.
Is camping a profession?
No. It takes no profession slot: every profession makes objects for it, and Cooking makes the campfires.
How long do camp buffs last?
1 hour in the beta client, and they keep going after the camp is gone. The Legacy perk Permanence makes them last longer.
How long does a campfire last?
15 minutes in the beta client. Blizzard estimated about 10 minutes in its interviews, so the final number may differ.
How many objects can a campfire hold?
A Basic Campfire holds 3, a Journeyman Campfire 5 and an Expert Campfire 10, and each player places one.
Do camp buffs stack with class buffs?
No. Each camp buff names the class buff it doesn’t stack with — the Incense Candle and Arcane Intellect, for example. The full list is above.
What is the camp object cooldown?
All camp objects share a 60-minute cooldown; campfires have their own 5-minute one. The Legacy perk Field Guide shortens the object cooldown.
Where do camp Blueprints drop?
From specific dungeon bosses, Blizzard says, without naming them yet. The client has 26 of them.
Still unconfirmed
- Which dungeon bosses drop which Blueprints, and whether tier 2 and 3 objects can be learned any other way
- How long a camp lasts at launch: the beta client and Blizzard’s estimate differ
- The minimum distance between camps, and whether camps work inside instances or across factions
- Whether a replaced object’s cooldown still runs, and whether Field Guide also shortens the campfire’s cooldown
- Whether Reagent Economy covers the Basic Campfire; the planner applies it to tier 1 camp objects only, as the perk’s text says
- Final buff values: these are beta numbers
