WoW Forever Companion Pets

The WoW Forever beta client lists 113 companion pets: 56 from Classic Era and 42 it never had. Filter them, hover an icon for the item that teaches the pet, and tick the ones you own. These are the small pets that follow you around, not Hunter pets.

Pets, names, icons and teaching items are read from the beta client (build 1.60.1.70291) and compared with the Classic Era client. Beta data can change before launch: a record is not a promise the pet can be earned. Last checked .

What the client does not say

  • Where a pet comes from. The pet table has a source text field and it is empty in all 113 rows; a source type is set on 1. For new pets without a guide of ours behind them the card says “source not in the client yet”, and we don’t guess.
  • Whether a pet ships. 28 records have no teaching item. 17 of them are linked to an item ID that has no item record yet, which usually means work in progress.
  • Vendors and prices. The client carries no vendor lists, so nothing here says who sells a new pet or for what currency.
  • Whether Classic sources still hold. Vendors, quests and drops marked “Classic Era source” are Classic’s. Nobody has confirmed them in the beta.
  • 11 icons. Their icon files are newer than the client’s icon list, so those cards show a question mark.
