Elemental Combat Shaman talents

Elemental Shaman guide →

Elemental Mastery is still the 31-point talent, now behind Lava Burst, and works differently: for 15 seconds it cuts Lightning Bolt and Lava Burst casts by half a second and removes Chain Lightning's cooldown. Lava Burst sits at tier 5 with no prerequisite and deals 20% more damage when your Flame Shock is on the target. Elemental Alacrity at tier 2, the renamed Lightning Mastery, shortens Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning and Lava Burst casts and leads to Lightning Overload at tier 5, which leads to Elemental Fury at tier 6, grown from 1 rank to 5. Trial by Fire at tier 4 takes over from Improved Fire Totems: a stronger Fire Nova with a shorter cooldown, and a longer Magma Totem. Call of Thunder and Storm Reach are no longer talents; Elemental Reach adds range and shortens Totemic Projection's cooldown, and Earthbound makes Earthbind Totem root nearby enemies for 5 seconds.

Shaman talent FAQ

Is Lava Burst in WoW Forever?

Yes, as a 1-rank Elemental talent at tier 5 with no prerequisite. It was the 31-point talent until beta build 1.60.1.70450 (October 15), which moved it up and put Elemental Mastery back in that slot, behind Lava Burst.

What are the Shaman 31-point talents in Forever?

Elemental Mastery for Elemental, as in Classic, and two new ones: Rage of the Farseer for Enhancement and Riptide for Restoration. Stormstrike and Mana Tide Totem, the other two Classic capstones, are now tier 4 talents.

Does Enhancement still have two-handed weapon talents?

No, and it no longer needs them. Two-Handed Axes and Maces, Weapon Mastery and Shield Specialization are missing from the tree because, by Blizzard’s October 7 deep dive, they are baseline now; Parry became Spirit Weapons.

Which shaman talents changed ranks?

Elemental Fury goes from 1 rank to 5, and Elemental Alacrity, the former Lightning Mastery, from 5 to 3. Anticipation and Healing Focus both go from 5 ranks to 3.
