What Blizzard has said about Krol’dok Stronghold

The What’s Next panel described Krol’dok Stronghold as a giant outdoor dungeon held by ogres who kidnap people and raid the settlements around them, with strange chanting heard at night. The panel guessed at cultists behind the chanting without saying more.

On September 15, Kaivax posted that BlizzCon materials had listed the stronghold beside an incorrect level range and gave the official range as 40–45. The 40–55 figure that appeared in panel coverage — on this site too, at first — is out of date, and so is the 35–40 that turned up in one recap.

Being outdoors is the unusual part: Blizzard has not said whether that changes how a group gets in, or how the dungeon is instanced.

Where Krol’dok Stronghold is

The stronghold is in the Riverglades, the new zone Blizzard built for the mid-levels; everything known about the zone is on the WoW Forever zones page.

Wowhead’s dungeon overview places it in the Riverglades too, and says no more about the entrance than Blizzard did; nothing official has been shown of how a group reaches an open-air dungeon.
