WoW Forever Cooldown Manager

Forever ships a Cooldown Manager in the default interface. Pick your class and race to see every spell it has a row for in the beta client, in the groups the game sorts them into, and paste a talent build to hide the talents you didn’t take.

The tracked spells are read from the beta client’s tables (build 1.60.1.70291); how the feature works is from Blizzard’s beta development notes. Beta data can change before launch. Last checked .

What the WoW Forever Cooldown Manager tracks

The beta client holds 31 cooldown sets with 523 rows naming 374 different spells. Each of the nine classes has one set; Paladin has the longest list with 47 spells and Rogue the shortest with 27. 130 talents of the Forever trees have an entry, either the talent itself or the buff it gives.

  • Warrior46 spells tracked16 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 0
  • Paladin47 spells tracked17 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 1
  • Hunter40 spells tracked17 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 0
  • Rogue27 spells tracked10 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 0
  • Priest35 spells tracked16 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 2
  • Shaman28 spells tracked11 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 4
  • Mage43 spells tracked22 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 6
  • Warlock33 spells tracked17 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 2
  • Druid43 spells tracked11 from talents · long cooldowns without an entry: 0
  • Groups: the client sorts the rows into Essential Cooldowns, Utility Cooldowns, Tracked Buffs, Group Buffs, Items. These are the game’s own names; a spell with both a cooldown and an effect worth watching sits in two groups, which is why the tool can show it twice.
  • Racials: 9 sets belong to a race and 11 more to a race and class together (Priest spells only some races learn, and Eureka!, which has a version per class), 32 racial spells in all. Pick a race in the tool to add them.
  • Trinkets: 2 rows name the two trinket slots instead of a spell, so the manager follows whatever trinket you equip.
  • Consumables: the table already has 3 rows for shared item cooldowns, but Blizzard’s October 8 notes say consumable support comes in a later patch, so the tool leaves them out.
  • Left out: rows pointing at a spell this client has no name for: 1. They are not listed.

How to turn on the Cooldown Manager

  • Off by default. Blizzard’s notes say it is enabled in Options, under the Gameplay Enhancement settings. The client’s own label for the switch is “Enable Cooldown Manager”.
  • What it does: in Blizzard’s words it pulls critical information from the buff bar or action bar and places it in a fully customizable location.
  • September 24 beta build: first available for Druid, Mage, Priest, Warrior, Warlock, without support for spell ranks.
  • October 1: Rogue and racial abilities added; the duplicate entry for each spell rank was removed.
  • October 8: all classes, racial abilities and trinkets are supported. Consumables follow in a later patch.

Long cooldowns the Cooldown Manager has no entry for

Checked against every trainer ability of each class: 15 abilities with a cooldown of 30 seconds or more have no row in the table, across 5 of the nine classes. The other classes have an entry for every one of theirs. Blizzard asked testers which spells they wish were tracked by default, so this list may shrink before launch.
